MILTONIO (M3S) - Quilted Maple Butterfly Points, Macassar Ebony, Saturn Rings
This 2004 Miltonio cue is another one-of-a-kind design by Milt Hyman incorporating two of his favorite design features: butterfly spliced points and “Saturn Rings”.
The Macassar ebony forearm has three fancy quilted maple butterfly points trimmed in an orange veneer. The beautifully figured Macassar butt sleeve is decorated with five “Saturn Rings” of quilted maple, Gabon ebony, orange veneer, bloodwood, and holly. The flat-faced wood-to-wood joint has a bloodwood collar and 3/8-10 steel pin. Slotted trim rings of ebony, orange and maple at ABCDE tie everything together. The butt cap is also bloodwood. The wrap is black with orange speck Irish linen. Signed and dated on the butt sleeve: “Miltonio 1204”.
This cue is 60 inches long; most of Miltonio's cues are 59-60" as this is the length he finds most playable. 19.5 oz. (2) 13 mm shafts with custom joint protectors.
Note: See the article on Miltonio in the December, 2004 Billiards Digest “Wand Workshop”.
