Richard Lanz (#RL4B) 2005 - 4 Butterfly pts. Curly Maple 1 of 1 cue
This custom cue was inspired in part by the butt sleeve design I saw in a cue made by Wayne Gunn many years ago. He, in turn, got it from the “Atomic” design made by Adam for one of their Julio Stamboulini cues in the 1970s. This is the second cue I've commissioned from Dick Lanz incorporating this design.
The black, white, and brown veneers loop in an intricate “atomic” design in the front of the forearm and repeat in the curly maple butt sleeve. The curly maple forearm has 4 curly maple butterfly-spliced points framed with three veneers of black, white, and brown. This all-wood cue has a nicely figured Bacote handle. The flat-faced wood-to-wood joint with a 5/16-14 stainless steel pin has a black linen phenolic collar. Black butt cap is engraved with Dick's new “LanzQ” logo in gold.
(2) 13mm custom Lang taper shaft (stiff) with ivory ferrules, Triangle tips. Weight: 19 oz.
