Art Cantando (AC404) 2003 - 4 pt. Ebony, BEM, Ivory inlays -
A beautiful ebony and ivory classic by Art Cantando, Barry Szamboti's 78-years-young protégé. Although you can see the Szamboti influence, Art does his own thing design-wise. They are also great playing cues. Art would charge $3,800 to duplicate this cue today.
Art makes fewer than a dozen cues each year; last year he made only nine. The cues have become “hot” new discovery among collectors due to their rarity and quality. I consider myself very fortunate to have recently acquired several of them; this is the last available for sale.

Four points ebony with double-black, double-white veneers in a fancy bird's-eye maple forearm. Each point has an ivory-veneered spearhead inlay tipped with an ivory diamond. The ebony butt sleeve has four large elliptical ivory windows inlaid with ebony, and tipped above and below with ivory diamonds. An ivory “bow tie” inlay is centered in between each window. Ivory, ebony, and silver `Bushka' rings finish the top and bottom of the butt sleeve, and also form the `A' ring above the wrap. 5/16-14 flat face stainless steel joint, black linen phenolic joint and shaft collars with a single fine silver ring. The cue is finished with an ivory butt cap engraved with the “AC” logo and push-in low-profile black rubber bumper. Black grained leather wrap.
Length: 58 inches. Weight: 19.8 oz. Overall condition is excellent (95%). (2) 13mm shafts with ivory ferrules; one has been chalked but is unplayed, the other is played but clean. Full set of joint protectors included.
