Richard Chudy (RC3-WP1) - “West Palm” 5 pt. Bird's-eye, Abalone & Engraved Ebony
Richard Chudy (pronounced: choo' dee) was one of nine featured cue makers at the October, 2005 Showcase at the Ritz in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The “West Palm” is a beautiful new design created especially for the event. This Deco inspired design in bird's-eye maple is the first West Palm cue to be made. Rick has made three versions of this cue using different materials for each (the others were in ebony and purpleheart). His background as an artist and sculptor is apparent here in the elegant flow of the delicately etched design.
Bird's-eye maple forearm with 5 inlaid floating bird's-eye points outlined in ebony. A delicately engraved design in ebony embellishes each point, and inlays of abalone and ebony decorate the base of each point. The bird's-eye butt sleeve continues the theme in windows of ebony and abalone. Twenty-four-piece Sterling silver ringwork set in black linen phenolic decorates the cue at ABCDE; black linen phenolic butt cap. The flat-faced wood-to-wood joint with G-10 glass epoxy pin and black linen phenolic collar makes this cue a superb playing instrument. An ivory plug in the tip of the pin is engraved with “rc3” and the serial number,  “04305”. Finished with a grained black pigskin wrap and black rubber push-in bumper.
(2) 13mm shafts, unchalked. Comes with a full set of joint protectors, including a custom ebony pin protector engraved with the rc3 logo.  Weight: 19.15 oz.  Length: 58 inches.
