Mark Moore (MM4-CB) - 4 pt. Ebony & Bird's-Eye “Checkerboard”, 56 ivory inlays
This interesting and very nicely made cue was crafted by Mark Moore, who built fine cues in the Dallas area about 20 years ago. This cue was custom made for a major Texas cue collector in the mid-1980's.  Although the shafts have been played, the cue butt is in perfect original 98% condition. I have been told it is probably one of the fanciest cues ever made by Mr. Moore.
Four points of Gabon ebony set in Bird's-eye maple, each inlaid with a notched ivory diamond flanked by two large and two small ivory dots. The butt sleeve is composed of 32 squares, 16 of ebony and 16 of Bird's-eye, creating a checkerboard design. Eight notched ivory diamonds are inlaid in the center ebony squares. Four large ivory dots alternate with four smaller ivory dots in ebony bands at the top and bottom of the butt sleeve. There are a total of 56 ivory inlays in this cue.
There is very attractive ringwork in the black phenolic collars at ABCD & E:  12 maple dash rings are bordered by maple rings above and below.  The faux ivory flat-faced joint has a 3/8-10 stainless steel pin with an ivory tip. The ¾-inch ivory colored butt cap is engraved “MOORE”. The cue is finished with black rubber bumper (slotted screw), and a black with white speck linen wrap.
One shaft has had light play and is very clean, one has had heavy play and has chalk staining:
Shaft #1: 12.55mm ivory ferrule, 3.25 oz., light play.
Shaft #2: 12.6mm ivory ferrule, 3.17 oz., chalk stained.
Cue weight: 18.62 - 18.7 oz. (depending on shaft).  Length: 57 inches.
