BILL SCHICK (BSE-96) - 1996 4 points Ebony, engraved Ivory, Silver, Snakewood, Elephant ear leather wrap, Ivory butt cap & ferrules

This drop-dead gorgeous custom cue by Bill Schick was built in 1996 and shows off Bill's skills as a master engraver. The original owner's initials “AL” were incorporated into the engraving on the butt sleeve. The cue was pictured in the color section of the Blue Book of Pool Cues, 2nd Edition.

The natural curly bird's-eye maple forearm has four points of ebony, with black and white veneers. Six-pointed stars are inlaid in ivory in the base of each point, and in ebony at the tips. The “wedges” in-between the points are ivory, each engraved with an exquisite acanthus leaf design, and topped by a band of ebony with a silver bordered diamond silver inlay.

The Gabon ebony butt sleeve has two heavily engraved ivory rectangular windows flanked by smaller snakewood windows and ivory “Schick stars”. In-between are small ivory windows engraved “AL” in script, with small silver-veneered diamonds above and below.

Piloted stainless steel joint has a 5/16-14 steel pin and black linen phenolic collars. The Bushka-style rings at ABCDE are Sterling silver and ebony. The cue is finished with an ivory butt cap engraved “Schick 1996” and a black rubber bumper. The original linen was recently upgraded by Bill Schick to a black elephant ear leather wrap. This cue is in excellent 95% condition.

(2) full 13mm+ shafts (13.15mm and 13.25 oz.) with ivory ferrules. The 13.15mm shaft was chalked for test hits only, but is unplayed. The 13.25mm shaft has had light play but is clean.
