SOLD

Arthur Queue by Marcus Dienst (AQ-CK06) - 2006 - 5 pt. Curly Koa, ivory, Bruyère burl, silver, with ostrich wrap
Marcus Dienst has been making custom cues in southwest Germany for over ten years. He builds fewer than 50 cues a year, including one or two five-figure “theme” cues. Although he is considered one of the finest cuemakers in Europe, until recently he was virtually unknown in the United States. In 2006 this talented cuemaker was invited to exhibit at the prestigious International Cue Collectors Show in Lake Las Vegas, and he was invited again to the 2007 ICCS in Houston. This annual event showcases hundreds of the best cues by both top current makers and legendary cuemakers of the past.
The cues Marcus brought to the ICCS simply knocked the socks off the collectors who attended. Some of the cues reflected the influence of the American cuemakers he most admires: David Paul Kersenbrock, Bender Cues, and Joe Gold. Two of the cues incorporated elaborate scrimshaw work. Host Bill Stroud (Josswest) stated that he thinks Marcus will be the finest cuemaker in the world within ten years time.
Description
This one-of-a-kind Arthur Queue is the last fancy cue to leave the shop in 2006. The forearm and butt sleeve are made from an extraordinary piece of curly Koa. There are five “flower points” of ivory and Bruyère burl wood with inlays of sterling silver dots, stripes & wings. The butt sleeve has five matching small points and inlays. There are 180 inlays in the cue (not including fancy rings).
The Arthur Queue logo is inlaid at the base in ivory, above the ivory butt cap. A Uni-Loc radial pin in a flat-faced solid ivory joint is decorated with sterling silver and ebony fancy ringwork, which also appear as A, B and C rings. The cue is finished with a striking ostrich leather wrap, which sets off the woods perfectly.
Two shafts with 13mm ivory ferrules, unchalked leather LePro tips (hard):
Shaft #1: 4.1 oz.
Shaft #2: 4.2 oz.
Butt: 14.4 oz. Weight: 18.5 - 18.6 oz., depending on shaft used.
A set of black Delrin joint protectors is included.
PRICE: $ 4,650      SOLD
