Paul Huebler (HC97-CT4) - 1997 'Custom Tulip' 4-point Tulipwood, BEM, ebony
Paul Huebler founded Huebler Industries in Linn, Missouri in 1973. In addition to his fine standard edition and series cues, Huebler offered special custom order and one-of-a-kind cues. These cues were engraved on the bottom of the butt cap “CUSTOM SHOP” along with the month and year. Paul Huebler explained to me that “a custom cue was anything the customer wanted: ivory or stainless steel joint, leather or linen wrap - whatever the customer wanted. All custom cues came with two shafts.” Most custom shafts had ivory ferrules, unless the client preferred linen fibre or buckhorn. This cue was created by the Huebler Custom Shop in 1997.
Fiddleback (tiger) maple forearm with four tulipwood points, each bordered in a single ebony veneer, with a single ebony-veneered ivory diamond inlaid in each point. Tulipwood butt sleeve with four intricately shaped ebony windows inlaid with an ivory diamond. Flat-faced wood-wood joint collared in ivory (a custom upgrade) with a 5/16-18 stainless steel pin and black linen phenolic joint and shaft collars. The black butt cap is engraved “CUSTOM SHOP MARCH 1997” on the bottom edge under the brown Brunswick bumper. Black with red speck Irish linen wrap.
Two original shafts:
