Return to Custom Cue List

Ginacue (GCT2-18-19) - Early 1960's Titlist conversions - matched pair, all-original condition

This rare pair of cues was made for a husband and wife by Ginacue in the 1960's. Ernie Gutierrez told me these are “very early cues”, probably made around 1963 or 1964. Unfortunately, he does not have records for these early cues, and he does not recall the names of the couple that ordered the cues. As he says, “That was a long time ago!”

These full-spliced Titlist conversion custom cues have four rosewood prongs with the standard four colored veneers (maple, purple, aqua, brown from outside to inside). Matching veneers, on either side of maple rectangle, are set in the rosewood butts.

The ivory-colored rings below the wrap of each cue are engraved with the “Ginacue” script logo as well as the initials of each owner. According to Ernie, these rings and the butt caps were made from old phenolic cue balls. The rubber bumper is attached with steel Phillips screw. Piloted stainless steel joints with 5/16-18 pins, with the older single-black linen joint and shaft collars. Joint pin protectors are included. Both are in all-original condition, including finish and Cortland linen wraps. Each cue has the one original shaft.

Cue #1: The initials “P.D.S.” are engraved on the ring below wrap. We believe this was the husband's cue. The butt is in good condition; but some wear is evident.
Length: 58 inches. Butt: 28-1/2 inches.
One original 29-1/2 inch shaft, 12.55mm with ivory ferrule, newer tip.
Weight: 19-1/8 oz. (554g) Butt 15-3/4 oz. (450g). Shaft 3-5/8 oz. (104g).

Cue #2: The initials “H.R.S.” are engraved on ring below wrap. This is believed to be the wife's cue, as it has not had as much play as its mate. The finish is in excellent condition.
Length: 58 inches. Butt: 28-1/2 inches.
One original 29-1/2 inch shaft, 13mm with ivory ferrule and newer tip.
Weight: 18-1/8 oz. (514g) Butt 14-1/4 (404g) shaft 3-7/8 oz. (110g).

This is an opportunity to own an unusual pair of early cues by one of finest cuemakers in the world.
