Huebler Custom (HC94-8DB) - 1994 `Diamond Block' 4 points Brazilian Rosewood, curly maple, ivory joint

This cue was part of a display of Huebler custom cues at the October 2007 International Cue Collectors Show in Houston. Paul Huebler was recognized for his work with the “2007 Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Academy of American Cue Art at the show.

Mr. Huebler has not made cues for the past decade, and collectors who appreciate the fine workmanship of Huebler Cues are increasingly seeking after examples of his classic designs, like this one. In addition to his standard edition and series cues, Huebler offered a line of one-of-a-kind and limited edition cues. These cues were engraved on the bottom of the butt cap “CUSTOM SHOP” along with the month and year.

Highly figured curly bird's-eye maple forearm with four short-spliced Brazilian rosewood points and four colored veneers (double black, blue, rose). Brazilian rosewood butt sleeve with four bird's-eye maple windows, each inlaid with an ebony veneered ivory diamond. Rosewood and maple block bands bordered in ebony rings frame the windows. Flat-faced wood-wood joint collared in ivory (custom upgrade) with 5/16-18 stainless steel pin and maple block ringwork set in black linen phenolic decorate the joint and shaft collars. Ivory-colored butt cap engraved “CUSTOM SHOP APRIL 1994” on bottom edge under the brown Brunswick bumper. The cue is finished with a white with black speck Irish linen wrap.

Two original shafts:

Shaft #1: 13.15mm, 4-1/8 oz. (118g) with ivory ferrule and Le Pro tip, unchalked;

Shaft #2: 13.25mm, 3-7/8 oz. (112g), composition ferrule, Le Pro tip, chalked.

Both shafts are immaculate and straight. A full set of ivory and black joint protectors is included.

Butt 15-7/8 oz. (452g).

Weight: 19-3/4 - 20 oz., depending on shaft used.

Like new, 98% condition.
