DOC FRY - c. 1960's Rosewood forearm, Gold glitter & marbleized plastic rings (DF-GR2)

F. Lamar `Doc' Fry was a pharmacist in the Philadelphia area who made cues as a hobby from the 1960s until 1976. His cues have become very collectible because of their unique look and rarity. He is particularly known for using thick rings of marbleized plastic and/or glitter under clear plastic.

This 1960's era pool cue has a dark rosewood forearm and features a 7-piece `A' ring: a thick gold glitter ring is flanked by two marbleized orange bands separated by thin black plastic rings, and finished with wider black plastic rings on the outside. The butt sleeve repeats the same design on a larger scale; the two orange marbleized plastic rings flank a wide gold “glitter” ring, separated by black plastic rings above and below.  The white Delrin butt cap is attached with a hex screw (no bumper).  The stainless steel 5/16-14 piloted joint has black linen phenolic joint and shaft collars decorated with nickel silver rings. The cue is in all original condition, including the white with green speck linen wrap, which shows a patina appropriate to its age.  Everything, including the finish, shaft, and  wrap, is in excellent condition, approximately 95%.

One original, straight 12.5mm shaft, 3.7 oz., with an ivory ferrule, played but very clean.
Weight: 19 oz.
Length: 58 inches (butt length is 29 inches, shaft length 29 inches also).
